ABOUT US

In 1966, Jack Crudup and Bryant Reed began a long standing business relationship while working together in the cast polyurethane department of The Acushnet Company. Five years later, with Acushnet closing their southwest division, Jack and Bryant founded a custom cast polyurethane manufacturer, servicing both the oil and gas and material handling industries.

Polymer Products began casting parts in 1971 based in a small building in Grand Prairie, Texas. Unable to sufficiently accommodate the growing need for cast polyurethane, PPI moved into a new 15,000 square foot building in 1977.

While the early 1980’s saw a significant downturn in the oil and gas industry, Polymer Products continued its growth and success by finding new industries and venues for polyurethane products. This early opportunity to persevere proved to be beneficial when in 1991, Polymer Products overcame a plant fire. Polymer then relocated into its current 40,000 square foot facility.

Jack Crudup became sole owner of Polymer Products in the early 90’s. Deciding to retire to Arizona in 1993, Jack ensured PPI would be left in capable hands. His son, Steve Crudup, already successful in the rubber and electronics industries, became owner and president of PPI. Throughout his fourteen years in charge, Steve has continued the legacy of growth and advancement left by his father. To this day, PPI continues to be a pioneer in the cast urethane business and offers custom urethane products to all fields and markets.

Jack Crudup passed away in January of 2004. He is fondly remembered by his friends and co-workers at Polymer Products and with his son and, now, grandson involved; his dedication to his employees and customers will never be forgotten.
